Skills Development

Learning through real experiences

We believe some of the best learning happens through everyday experiences, community participation and opportunities to try new things.

At Community Bee, we encourage participants to develop practical skills, build confidence and work towards greater independence in an environment where they feel supported and comfortable.

Everyone learns differently, which is why we support participants to learn at their own pace, explore their interests and develop skills that are meaningful to their everyday lives.

Cooking & Food Preparation

Learning to prepare meals can be both enjoyable and rewarding. We support you to plan meals, follow recipes, prepare ingredients and develop kitchen skills while building confidence and healthy everyday habits.

Budgeting and money management

Understanding how to manage money can make everyday life easier. We can help you learn to budget, compare prices, manage spending, save for things you want and make informed financial decisions.

Cleaning and household tasks

A comfortable home starts with learning everyday household skills. We can support you with laundry, washing dishes, vacuuming, organising your space and keeping your home clean and tidy.

Personal hygiene and daily routines

Building consistent daily routines can help you feel more confident and independent. We provide support with personal care routines, grooming, dressing and developing healthy habits at a pace that works for you.

Communication and social skills

Connecting with others is an important part of everyday life. We can help you build communication skills, develop friendships, express your needs, participate in conversations and feel more comfortable in social situations.

Travel and community safety

Getting out and about opens up opportunities to explore your community. We can help you learn about public transport, road safety, planning journeys, recognising risks and building confidence when travelling.

Work readiness and employment skills

Everyone deserves the opportunity to explore their abilities and contribute. We can help you develop workplace skills, understand expectations, practise communication, build confidence and explore employment opportunities that match your interests and strengths.
